These fine young people do all the work, so it would be rude not to put them in the spotlight! We are privileged at Pacific Channel to have two crackerjack analysts, who review investment opportunities as well as technologies and their potential markets.
Henry Huang’s expertise is around life sciences and biotechnology.
Henry is passionate about bridging the gap between science and business, as well as connecting the high-technology industry between New Zealand and Greater China. He supports the Chinese business development, networking and communication of Pacific Channel’s portfolio companies.
Henry holds a Master of Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Auckland. Through this programme, Henry assisted Engender Technologies to examine the networking process of internationalising technology start-ups from New Zealand, particularly on how new ventures can overcome entry barriers in China. Henry also holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Auckland. Henry has a strong interest in neurobiology and genetics.
In his free time, Henry loves to cook (his hospitality is hard to miss).
Perzaan Mehta joined Pacific Channel late 2016 as an Analyst focused on engineering and cleantech start-ups. He has a keen interest in renewable technologies having conducted research into floating wind turbines at university. Perzaan is responsible for identifying and reviewing technologies for investment and developing commercialisation pathways for our portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Pacific Channel, he worked with GEA, a German multinational engineering firm in the supply chain and operations management team of Asia Pacific where he led a project in the development of operational processes. Perzaan has completed a BE(Hons) in Mechatronics engineering and a BCom in Finance and Economics from the University of Auckland.
In his free time Perzaan is a fiercely competitive pub quiz participant.
Both Henry and Perzaan joined Pacific Channel initially through internships.
