Pacific Channel is in the process of launching its next signature fund which will focus on the future of health, food and environment. We will invest in deep-tech companies from pre-seed to Series A stage. Our investments range from implantable medical devices to monitor debilitating health conditions affecting children, through to new battery chemistries. We take an active role with our portfolio to support their growth.
About the role:
Pacific Channel has an opportunity to bring a new Associate, Senior Associate, or Investment Manager into the team. As a valuable member of our team, you will need to evaluate potential investment opportunities based around complex biology, medical or engineering technologies. Conducting both technical and commercial assessments, you will play a pivotal role in shaping investment decisions.
Depending on the level of your role, you will be contributing to, or leading, investment transactions. Beyond this, you will provide ongoing support to the companies we invest in, to help them drive positive change in the world.

Skills and Experience required:
We are looking for a person who is passionate about science and technology and is motivated to see these being transformed into real-world applications that have meaningful impact.
Our team is experienced in science and engineering,and together we make informed data-driven investment decisions.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to science, computer/ data science or engineering
- Preferred: 1 year of relevant experience, but 3 – 5 years in a deeptech startup, technology commercialisation, corporate venture, or investment experience would be highly advantageous
- Candidates with a post-graduate science/ engineering degree or more work experience are also encouraged to apply.
While prior experience in investing and supporting early stage companies is ideal, we believe there is no traditional pathway into venture capital. Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in early stage companies
- Conduct in-depth due diligence, analysing both the technical and commercial aspects of a project
- Synthesise complex information into robust investment recommendations which can be presented to a broad audience
- Collaborate with our experienced team to shape investment strategies and portfolio development
